More Minnie Mouse

Hello friends, I made some more Minnie mouse decorations for a friends birthday party. I have been sick so it was just a few.  I wanted to add them on here so everyone could see them. The banner was made with the cricut alphabet. I cut the white card-stock into 6"x 6" pieces and rounded the corners. I bought pink paper with white polka-dots for Minnie I cut the scalloped shape from Elegant edges. I just did capital letters with a black shadow. I think they look so cute. I used a glue gun to glue them to some twine I had here at the house. The centerpieces are formula cans covered with pink polka-dot paper. I made the 2 to cover the space where the paper didn't go completely around. I just cut several icon shapes from the Disney- Mickey and Friends cricut cartridge. I got two small pin wheels that I added, b/c I thought they were cute. (I got them on sale at Hobby Lobby for 49 cents)
I put floral foam in the can to hold the dowels, then I added dried beans so they wouldn't tip over b/c the Minnie Mouses were so tall. If I make them again I will add a birthday package for her to stand on.

I put them on two strings to be hung Happy then Birthday under it but she decided to put them all together.

Close up of the banner

I made two centerpieces b/c she said she was having it at the park and there are only two picnic tables.
These are so cute, they are one foot tall.

I wish I had made a birthday package and put her standing on it. Oh well, too late now. Everyone is happy so I guess that is all that matters. Like I said I've been so sick and didn't feel like doing anything, but I promised to make them so here they are. They turned out ok.

We put pink w/white polka dot tape on the bottles and had drink flavor packs on the tables. If you look they are baby food jars with the mickey icon. I don't have a photo right now of her gift table. I also do not have a photo right now of Alivia's high chair. I decorated it too with balloons and pink tulle. I was so cute. (will try to get those photos on in an update)  We had a lot of fun. She seemed to enjoy her cake too.

Thanks for stopping by.

SNEEK PEEK at the Wedding Album

Well, it's not quite finished but I still have today. Ha ha The wedding isn't until tomorrow at 3:00. I started to take photos of the pages I had finished but the batteries in my camera died so this is a sneek peek.
Cover
I'd like to get a photo of the couple off facebook and add to the album. Since it is so close to the wedding I am not sure if this will happen or not. I love the beautiful flowers on the front. Her colors are orange and grey so I thought this would be perfect. Please remember this is my VERY 1st Scrapbook album ever. It can only get better right? ha ha

Thank you

Minnie Mouse Thank you Cards

Alivia's first birthday we had a Minnie Mouse themed party. These are the Minnie Mouse Thank-you cards I made for the gifts she received. They are super cute. I love the Mickey and Friends Disney cartridge I have for my cricut. I really love my cricut. I love to see the reaction on people's face when I give them a card like this. It is really not hard but looks like it! The cricut does most of the work for you.

If you gave Alivia something for her birthday I hope you received one of these. If not they are at my daughter's ready to be written and sent to you. Let me thank you here in writing if you didn't get one.

Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Big Hugs

Hello Everyone,

I am so excite about the new cricut cartridge I got "Lacy Labels". The shapes are so pretty. They are very "lacy" and delicate!

Row 1 Number 1 (Love You)

I don't like this card but I wanted to see the different shapes on this cartridge. I guess I will name them by number and then how they show up on the screen. I am not sure how to do it since the cricut lite cartridges don't have a book. They only have a brocure like paper. (which btw is laminated which I really like) Just thought I'd throw that in. ...at no extra cost. hahaha
This is the Row 1 Number 1 (on the overlay) It has a layer that says Love You thus the Name "Love You" but I ran out of time today and I wanted to get this posted. I don't like the red background with the red ink (from the stamp "Big Hugs") so this card I am sure will change. I will repost when I get it the way I like it. (fair enough) ...better go it is Wednesday, prayer meeting night at church and I have some errands to do while I am in town (gotta save gas you know) I am leaving a little early to get everything finished.  Happy Crafting

Thinking of You

Hello Everyone,
I have another card for you. This is from Cricut Lite Cartridge "Lacy Labels"  (ones from Wal-mart) I love this cartridge. I love all the delicate edges & beautiful shapes that it has. Maybe I can do a card for each shape ??? There are a lot of intricate cuts and do not lend themselves to small cards so we will have to see.

Front

This is very simple and easy card. I cut a piece of white cards stock in half and then folded it in half to make this card (5.5 x 4.25) I cut the blue shape @ 2.5 as well as the other two layers. (white flower layer & "thinking of you" layer)  The dots for the "i" was so small I used a hole punch to make dots.
I am sure I won't be able to keep up this pace all year. I have posted 3 cards in 3 days but I do hope to post at least one per week.  If I can do more I will (as this week) and if not I hope you all understand. Please leave me a comment and become a follower of my blog. Happy Crafting

Guess "hoo" loves you

Hello Everyone,
This is the card I started for Saturday Dec 31st. I made the "hoo" love you and an owl to go on the front of the card but the card was too small to put both on the front so I added the ribbon and will use the owl on another card.
     Front

I leave the inside blank to write a note to the children.

owl

Here is the owl that I made.  I am not sure which card it will go on. I will post it when I use it.

I'm bananas 4 you

Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope to do more blogging this year. I am sorry about 2011. When Bob went into the hospital it just seems my whole world was turned up-side down.  I can"t seem to get back into the groove of things.  I hope 2012 will be much better. I will try to post cards or 12x12s at least once a week. (no promises, but that is the goal)

Here is a card I did few weeks ago and never got posted. I have a card I made for the children in my Sunday School class.
Front

Inside

As you can see this could be used for any number of reasons. Birthday, thinking of you, get well. just about anything.  I love this little monkey. I am sure this is not the last you will see of him. (tee hee hee)
I have to cut this short b/c I have to run but I will try to post more soon!

Gone Fishing Page 2

I said I might turn the "gone fishing" 12x12 into a double page and I did. I also said if I did I would post pictures for you (so I am) I had four photos of Jordan and Amber fishing that I really liked. I just got those photos printed. I have been busy working on my daughter's "save-the-dates" for her upcoming wedding.  The "save-the-dates" are to go out on Nov 1st. They were almost finished all but the photos. She just got her engagement photos last week. We went to print some of her photos to finish the save-the-dates so I printed the four photos for the "gone fishing' pages. Anyway, Here is the second page of the "gone fishing". I think it turned out really well.

This page was very easy to finish. I just cut the green photo mats 4.5 x 6.5. I cut the black gone fishing from the billionaire (font) cricut lite cartridge. I cut the letters 2" on shadow feature (I plan on getting another page of the green and cutting the regular letters out of green) The letters will then be green with the black shadow.  The two fish (cut at 5") are from the everyday paper dolls (fisherman pg 70). I inked around the fish with TH distress ink, vintage photo.

Another 12x12 "Gone Fishing" (Thanks Vicki)

Hi Everyone,
I know, I know, I know ...I'm cardmakerMOM ...why the 12x12s well, I guess you can thank my YT friend Vicki over at melovebono (her YT channel). She makes some really cute double 12x12s. She has been a huge inspiration to me!!! Thanks Vicki!!! My last scrap-book LO was inspired by a Halloween sticker and this one by the "fishing" paper. My son Jordan loves to fish so I just had to get this paper and make him a page (this may turn into a double LO and if it does I will post more photos)  Right now I am not sure what to put up in the Left hand corner of my page but I have learned just leave it alone and I will come up with an idea to finish this page. (or what I consider finished)  I may put another photo mat up there but I do not have any more of that color green card stock. I will pick up another piece  and see what 3 mats looks like. I have another idea or two and if I change this page then I will upload addition photos.

To make this page you will need the following for this page:

1- 12" x 12" Gone Fishing patterned paper (I will have to let you know which paper co.)
2- 4" x 6." pieces of green card-stock (for photo mats) in photo they looks like two different sizes but they are not.
Adhesive to glue down all your elements, black maker, and white pen for fisherman's face.
(I also used distressing ink around the edges of all paper elements )  colors of paper for fisherman you will need
  • flesh (body)
  • blue (shirt)
  • green (waders)
  • cream (vest, hat, 3 fish, circle from 3/8" hole punch)
  • brown (hair, rod and reel)
  • yellow (fish bag)
1-Fisherman cut from cricut everyday paper dolls cut at 5" (Everything was cut at 5")
  • cut body page 28 (I cut on black out so I could draw the face or you could use peachy   keen face stamps if you have them)
  • waders page 70
  • shirt page 70 (shift)
  • hair page 70 (Feature 1)
  • hat page 70 (shift Feature 1)
  • vest page 70 (Feature 2)
  • fish bag page 70 (shift Feature 2)
  • rod and reel page 70 (Feature 3)
  • fish (for end of rod) (shift Feature 3)
  • fish page 70 (Feature 4)
  • fish page 70 (shift Feature 4)
Ink around the edges of all your cut outs.
Glue layers of fisherman together.
Glue fish to rod and reel.
Glue the circle cut from hole punch onto fish bag (I use cream card stock then inked brown)

*Place the fish on the photo mats where you would like (if you place them on corner only glue down the part of fish that is off the photo mat this way you can tuck your photo under the fish)

Halloween 12 x 12

Hello everyone,
I found this really cute Halloween scrap-book title sticker at Wal-mart for $1.50 and I had to get it. This is the 12 x 12 LO page I made when I got home.  I think it turned out really cute. (Vicki, I am working on a YT video of how I did it.) The camera I am using is not a working correctly and I am having trouble with the video so that may have to wait until my new camera gets here. The delivery date for my camera is Oct 18. (I can hardly wait)
Here is a picture of my Halloween layout.

To make this page you will need the following for this page:

1- 12" x 12" Halloween patterned paper (mine came from the Cloud 9 Designs Seasonal paper pack)
1- 3.75" x 12" piece of green colored card-stock (You can use the color of your choice)
1- Halloween Title sticker (wal-mart) It just says $1.50 & Stickers (made in China)
2- 4.5" x 6.5" pieces of black card-stock
2- 4" x 6" pieces of spiderweb patterned paper (All seasons paper pack by The Paper Studio)
2- Bats cut- 5" out of black with Cricut from Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge (page 52)
1- Pumpkin cut- 6" out of orange with Cricut from Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge (page 53)
Small scrap of black for back of pumpkin
Adhesive to glue down all your elements & white pen for decorative dots.
(I also used distressing ink around the edges of the pumpkin)

I glued the bats down by the wings leaving the face unglued. The Pumpkin I glued down the middle leaving the sides unglued. The reason I left places unglues is so you can add your photo and tuck them under the bat & pumpkin.

  • Attach Halloween sticker to the Green Card-stock
  • Glue the green card-stock down the bottom of the 12x12 patterned paper.
  • Attach the spiderweb patterned paper to the black card-stock
  • Glue the black card-stock down
  • Cut Cricut pieces. (2 bats 5" and 1 pumpkin 6")
  • Put small scrap of black card-stock on the back of pumpkin to cover eye holes.
  • (I just left the holes in the bat eyes open.)
  • With white pen add decorative dots.
  • Glue bat wings down (see photo for placement)
  • Glue pumpkin down in the middle
  • Add photos

Lady Bug Cards

Here are some cards I made for the children in my Sunday School Class (3 & 4 year olds) The ladybug is cut with the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge.

I love lady bugs. The kids really loved them. They really liked the fuzzy antenna. These are made with the sentiment "so thankful for you" on the front.

This is a quick look at the inside ...I just stamped a couple of ladybugs and added the sentiment. You could also stamps the ladybugs with red ink.
The back of the card. I do not have a signature stamp yet. (remember I'm a newbie)
Here is one more with the same lady bug but with the antenna drawn on with Sharpie marker and a different sentiment on front "Thanks Friend"

MY FIRST BABY ALBUM

This is the cover and the first two pages. In the pocket of page one is a three photo tag (front & back) so that is a total of six photos.  There are three tags in the pocket of page two. There is room for journaling on the fronts and photos on the backs. You could also put a photo on the base of the page.
These are pages three and four.  I like the way these turned out. The yellow photo mat slides under the teddy bear and the blue photo mat comes out of the bath tub. You can put a photo on one side and journaling on the other or a photo on each side. You could also put a photo on page behind the photo mat in the tub.

These are pages five and six. I really like the tags in the crib. You can journal on front and put photo on the back. The mat on page six flips up so you can add two photos. You could also put a photo on page down in the crib.

These are the last two pages. The yellow mat comes out and you can put photo on each side or photo on one side and journaling on the other. You could put photo under the yellow mat as well as the two on the mat.   In the pocket on the last page there are three tags for journaling. There is a photo mat that space for three photos on each side. This makes room for six birthday photos. You could also put photo or photos on the back page behind the tags.
